New film and new partners

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Factory team are working with the lovely folks at the Maysles Documentary Center in NYC to produce a new feature doc. MY WEEK WITH JR  is a documentary exploration of the life and work of enigmatic French artist JR. Across seven days, British Art historian and curator, Kate Bryan, spends long hours with the former teenage graffiti artist who conceals his identity behind a fedora and dark glasses and his two initial nom de plume – to explore his fears, his failures and his phenomenal successes. Getting up close to the artist and his team – Kate reveals the spectacular vision &  monumental processes behind his trade-mark large scale work.  

During their time together, in June 2026, JR will take on the legacy of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s iconic 1985 wrapping of the Pont Neuf in Paris (captured by the Maysles in their film Christo in Paris) and will be creating his own colossal installation across one span of this iconic Parisian landmark, the oldest bridge in the city. Open 24/7 for the whole of June,  La Caverne du Pont Neuf is expected to draw ten million visitors from across the globe – once inside the tunnel, an internal soundscape will be composed by Thomas Bangalter, former member of duo Daft Punk.

Following him at work, in his studio and on site at Pont Neuf, Kate explores JR’s activism, politics and art and asks where this photographer, film-maker and social entrepreneur sits in the French Art canon.
