Last night was the opening night - and world premiere of Gods of the Game - the opera commissioned by Sky Arts and performed at Grange Park Opera, Surrey. We've been working on this project for nearly 4 years - and it was a joy to see Phil Porter's libretto - and the wonderful newly composed music from the five-a-side of Julian Philips, Aran O'Grady, Lucy Armstrong, Blasio Kavuma and Abel Esbenshade - be brought to life. The cast and chorus are also brilliant - as are the on-screen chorus of football fans.
